Popped my charge pipe
Haven't posted here in a millennia...
Visiting Tucson, AZ from Los Angeles. And wouldn't you know it, the charge pipe pops. Right at the throttle body. Cracked open but the top of it is still there. Can't find a replacement part in Tucson and must be back in LA (some 400 miles away) tomorrow. It drives fine. Idle is solid. It just drives like it is NA. If I wrap up the pipe so dirt and dust can't get in where it is cracked, am I risking running with a giant boost leak. |

Just an idea, if you're running MHD you could go map zero which cuts off the turbos I think, although not sure of the long term implications of a such a long drive doing so.

Yes - Will it cause harm? No.
If you can stop foreign objects getting into the pipe then that will a msaai9ve plus for survive-ability. Drive with light throttle and early gear changes till you can get a new pipe, which really you should be able to get before setting off but whatever your emergency/prerogative. Have fun camper |

Thanks all. It's a stock 335 with stage 2 PPK. No 3rd party tune so no ability to change the tune on the road. After taking a closer look, the CP is damaged at the throttle body side but is still mostly intact.
I am going to keep it out of boost as much as possible, 3K RPM max and accelerating slowly. I think that ought to do it. I can drive it that way and not even trigger the reduced power warning. At highway speeds, in cruise, I would guess there is a small amount of positive pressure in the CP but not much. So hopefully CP positive pressure pressure exceeds manifold negative pressure and results in air pushing out around the damaged area but not letting any debris in. Obviously will be avoiding any dirt and debris on the road. Will try to tape it up a little to make debris ingestion even less probable but it probably will not stop the CP from moving as pressure differences occur. |

Go on Facebook marketplace and search for people selling aftermarket charge pipes
Should be able to get one for $100 or so, might even get lucky and find a good deal with a nice bov or at least an eBay/knock off brand |

Stage 0 is stock map with MHD installed. It doesn't cut the boost targets, just lowers it to about 8psi (stock boost level)

Unfortunately MHD hasn't got one, would be really handy if they did a proper Valet mode. Saying that, XHP just released a Valet mode update, probably won't limit boost though, |
