Long Term Storage
Need some advice: I'm headed overseas for 2.5 years. My '13 iS is FBO. I'll be leaving the car at home covered/garaged with my dad.
My plan was to have him drive it once a month to get it to OT and then park it again. I was planning on putting it on a battery tender, changing oil every 6mo and adding fuel stabilizer, but is there anything else I should get? I was thinking about doing E85 and LPFP but if I'm not gonna get to use it much what's the point in doing it now? The only benefit of now is that the kit is on sale. Would appreciate any feedback. TIA.

Don't do e85. It is a corrosive gas if it just sits in your tank.
Use the fuel stabilizer on a full tank of high quality gas and drive for 25 miles or more so it gets through your system. If you're leaving for that long just disconnect the negative terminal in the trunk instead of using a tender, unless someone is going to be driving it from time to time other than cranking it up. But to be honest probably use a tender and have your dad drive it for 20 miles at a time so the fuel gets through the system every so often might be a better idea. |

I wouldn't leave ethanol in when I left. I'd just do it for now and the occasional trip back home, to be clear.
