Is there a smooth map in MHD?

I couldn't help but notice that all maps apart from stock are kinda jerky, I feel a a little bit of surging if I floor it, especially on higher gears...
Most likely throttle closure due to high boost... This has always been there, before and after replacing my turbo's with Rob Becks...

I left it alone as it pulls well in the end as rpm's rise, and I never get any codes. I have new injectors (about 10k miles new) and brand new coil packs, new plugs too.

Wondering if anyone has found a smooth map just like stock, with good power.
I tried 1 and 1+ for now, seems that the 1+ is jerkyer than just 1.

I don't want to go to 2, as I don't have downpipes, I just want smooth power, don't need more than stage 1 in fact.

You need to log to see what might be going on. Not many reports of "jerky" power delivery with MHD, aside from some people having issues with V.8 maps. V.7 seems to be the favorite.

Thanks, I suppose I could try V7. I am on V8 now, went down from V9 where I had some weird issues with a lot of surging during constant throttle after a while.

Seconded on the log. Also check and see if you have any codes with MHD. How old are your plugs and coils as well?

My car had random jerky acceleration and odd hiccups. Eventually, while doing a half throttle pull, one of the coils completely blew. I replaced all 6 and the car has been accelerating smoothly ever since

Check my post New coils, new plugs too. No errors of any kind ... Just like you had very bad jerkiness and one coil was gone, but I replaced them all last year... With my driving, I did under 2000 miles since.

V9 maps should be smooth, zero throttle closures

You probably have some issues with your car though, since even stock map log shows some initial throttle closures.

I don't know what you mean by jerk, previous maps prior to v9 build boost more aggressively, whereas v9 is more progressive.

There shouldn't be any jerks, I'm on V7.1 map and I don't have any jerks whilst accelerating.

Can you post a log to show what exactly you mean by jerking?

Just realised you have RB turbos, then you should be on a Custom tune, are you running OTS maps on RB's?

Thanks for the reply, I have the stock equivalent, not upgraded RB turbos... running map V8 1+ I think.. I have a big Stepped Helix intercooler, stock down pipes though, with no secondary cats (sounds much better)

I don't have the logging feature for this VIN, long story short, I had the change my DME a couple of years back, and they did not give me the logging feature back, just the stage one maps ... Car owes me too much skin and money to buy stuff for it

I remember very clearly that I had no such hesitation with JB4 when I was running that, on my previous 335xi... Is that anyone's finding also ?
Thanks

Stock equivalent ok makes sense.

I would avoid V8 maps, as that revision has issues various issues reported by people. Your jerking could be due to excessive throttle closures or other issues with V8 maps.

Try V7.1 or V9 maps.

Logging is a very handy feature that can help you diagnose issues, I would recommend you get it mate. It's worth it, especially if you plan to keep your car for a while.
