F32 440i Tyre Sizes

I currently own a 2017 440i Coupe, my current tyre sizes on the 442m 19" wheels are:

Front 225/40/R19
Rear 255/35/R19

What would be the best tyre sizes to get?

Thanks in advance

Is there a problem with your tire size?

255 is already the largest width that some chain tire shops will put on a 8.5" wheel. That said, 275/30 will usually fit on a 8.5 safely, and 235/35 on the fronts will give you equal diameter.

Would you say there is a benefit to this?

Depends how hard you drive and if you're experiencing wheel spin and/or under steer with the stock sizes. If you're driving at the limit you'll have a bit more traction at the front during turn in, and better hookup at the rear.

For normal driving, no benefit at all, plus increased costs of tires at those sizes.

People consider changing tyre size usually because they change to different wheels. In your case, the justification usually is just for the looks (I'm not sure if this is what you're after).

255/35/19 is the max width for 19x8.5" rear, so leave it.

swap the 225/40/19 up front, to 245/35/19, to reduce understeer.

here are some pics of the said swap.

Wider tires always benefit the traction, but I'm still not sure what you are after?
For someone not pushing the car, you got exatly the right tires

We all want benefit but don't forget also the cost: wider tyres increase fuel consumption and hurt the speed (not to mention the increase cost of the tyres).

According to an actual race car driver, your tire should 0.5" narrower than your wheel size.

You need to match this measurement:
