Regarding the ''overpriced'' CS , i would say that the Competition is a bargain , not the CS overpriced. Lets see the next Gen M2 with a M engine from the beginning, you can see how the prices of the new G8x M3/4 jumped over the F8x M3/4 . That is the gap that the G87 M2 will fill . I would say that the F87 M2 Comp was not intended to be at the price point , but it couldn't be 10-15k more expensive than the F87 M2. I dont think is happening with the next M2.
Merino leather CS seats(front and rear) , original CS roof , and the adaptive suspension + the installation fees of those you and i mentioned = Might be more than 90-95k , and we haven't even added the CCB which as you know its cheaper to put from factory. how much would they sell those to me as spare parts? ( forgot the sport exhaust with the beautiful engraved M logo on the exhaust tips ) . But again , you will have a modified M2 C , or better a wannabe M2 CS. - it still wont have the suspension , differential , steering , power delivery , and all those other small tunes that were made specifically on the CS. You can't buy exclusivity - Its on the CoC .

On the other hand - seen from BMW's point of view: also ask yourself how much it really costs BMW to produce those items and do a recount. Needless to say that M Performance Parts are very profitable items for BMW. Also don't forget to remove replaced items from the M2C price: if BMW fits a CS center console or CF hood, it won't first fit and subsequently trash the original item. Furthermore: some M2C items are not available on the M2 CS (either omitted or conflicting items): see for example here. Some extra food for thought: Quote:

I posted this on another thread but it applies here..
It's not hard to spec out an M2C to be knocking on the door of an M2CS pretty quickly. My manual M2C list price was $74k, after the gold M763 wheels it was 80K. That didn't include the M performance suspension which was close to another $5k after install/alignment. Now you have a car within spitting distance of an M2CS price. It has nicer rear exhaust tips but that's about it. Everything else on the CS is just better/cooler/more special. If you want a CS get a CS. Trying to make a Comp equivalent is a fools errand. |

Not sure what BMW's costs are, but rule of thumb is the cost of goods is around 30% of MSRP in manufacturing to end consumer. It varies wildly though and can be 80% in direct to consumer "low margin" applications.
