TPMS
Can anyone advise whether there are any issues in using after market TPMS sensors (for example from tire rack) vs OEM on a second set of winter wheels? The price difference is quite significant at $160 per set (Tire Rack) vs $400 per set (OEM)

They should be just as good. The aftermarket ones need to be programmed for the vehicle. Tire Rack is very good at putting all this stuff together so you should be ok buying from them.

Yeah Ive used aftermarket sensors for years with no problems. Most recently in my Jeeps where Ive bought 5 sensors for under $50 on eBay and Amazon. Dont believe the hype.

Interesting, I wonder if the aftermarket sensors have temperature sensors within as well?
I know the G07 doesn't display the temp by default, but I think you could code it in. Regardless, I know the suggested pressure in the G07 uses the temperature from the OEM sensor, so that would be my main concern. Even if it doesn't have a temperature sensor, I would think it's worth it as long as it doesn't produce errors. If they're saying its compatible, I'd assume it doesn't. I only realized the suggested pressure was dynamic recently. If it was a performance car/max performance tire, it might be a different story. I have the TPMS set as one of my hotkeys in my M3 so I could check the temps regularly, so I certainly wouldn't go without a temperature sensor this time of year there. I still have my summer tires on and they're ice skates when the tires are below 50 degrees, but it's still too early to throw on the winters.

I have aftermarket TPMS sensors in my track wheels for my M3 and the auto learn feature works as advertised when swapping wheels for track events, and then back to my street wheels.

There are many different type of aftermarket.
The one that I've been selling since 2009 is Beru/Huf brand whom manufactures TPMS for most European car manufacturers. In other word, it is an OEM brand. Car manufacturers just private label it and charge you 5x more just because there is their logo in it, such as; BMW, Porsche, VW, Audi, Lamborghini, etc. Again, this is what I've used and sold for many many years. Even to my G07 X7 customers. As long as you don't buy the unknown/China brands, you'll be good.
