Competition worth it if i plan to get Remus?

Hello,

About to order a 2021 M5, I am wondering if the competition is worth it if I am going to get the Remus exhaust, I never track my car, It is going to be my daily to take my 11 months old baby and wife around. I am also considering ordering the car with MPE since i can roll the cost into lease payments.

Any tips will be appreciated

are you wanting the comp purely for sound? then if so, no. not worth it. get your remus or MPE.

I'm running a base m5 with MPE. Sounds amazing but no valves on the exhaust ... best sounding to me but has to be heard in person. Videos do no justice. PM me and I can take some videos and email or dropbox to you

I like the black out headlights and the rest of the trim, but i can get most wrapped black anyways except the headlights, so i am not sure if its worth $6300 more.

I am just wondering if it will sound better on a competition with Remus vs. non-competition with Remus, if anyone has experience on that, please let me know!

You will have less burbles in Sport Plus mode with non-competition. But you can add burbles if you tune the car with a flash tune.

In my opinion its not, you are changing the exhaust and if you want the extra power you can tune the car for a lot cheaper than what BMW charges

If he is getting the 2021 all of those extra competition badges might add some hp

But I agree here if you're swaping the exhaust and not racing it get the non comp

Also the comp really isn't any faster with the Pirellis. They have less grip then the ps4s (but they are more fun to slide the car around with)

The money you’re going to spend that is suggested here, exhaust, tune, wrapping the car. What is the cost for all of this?

I have the 21 comp it sounds great. The ride is very compliant. You’ll have no issues using this as a daily and will not have to mess with the car.

I’m sure BMW has something in the paperwork about tuning the car if you’re leasing it. Is it worth possible warranty issues.

Rolling in costs to your lease payments is a great thing. Plus warranty on whatever is OEM installed. For this reason, I would get comp package with all the aesthetics/black trims included. And consider adding the MPE. It sounds glorious! Only problem is it might wake up your baby every time you drive in and out of the garage!

The exhaust on the comp is very nice. IMO no reason to change. This is a 5 series car. You’ll be fine with the exhaust especially with how you’re going to use it. Sounds better than my 720s spider.

Comp or base won't change the sound of the exhaust much.
AFAIK, competition comes with smaller resonator, but still the same axle back.

But, based from what I read, seems like you are pretty set with the Comp since you want the blacked out pieces straight from the factory.

Now, since you have 11 months old baby, and Wife.
I do suggest you to get axle back only.
Otherwise, you may not be able to enjoy it passed a week, if you are lucky. Hahaha.

I have installed many2 Remus, and all has been happy with it.
