Track Connection

Is anyone familiar with this?

"They have a harder tire wall to accommodate heavier sports cars and includes Track Connect sensors, which connect to an app in your phone. "

And is it exclusive to the Cup 2 tires?

They are compatible with the track connect kit and sensors. You can buy the $500 kit and install the sensors in "track connect" tires which the cup2 on the M2CS is a track connect tire. So far my inquiries with bmw and Michelin suggest that there is no special agreement that will include the connect kit or discount the kit. I was on the phone today using the track connect contact number and they are supposed to get back to me. There was some wording in the app that I interpreted as being eligible for a promotion, but I may have misunderstood.

I received word from BMW that the track connect sensor kit will not be subsidized in any way by BMW. The CS comes with the Track Connect Tires and the owners can by the kit through 3rd party retailers if they want the connected functionality.

So does that mean the CS is not going to have the Track Connect sensors from the factory? If so, then a dismount/mount of all tires will be required to install them.

Yes, they will not come with the car from the factory and the tires will have to be uninstalled to mount the sensors and then reinstalled.

Do you also know if the actual tires that are coming are going to be Pilot Sport Cup2 Track Connect *or* Pilot Sport Cup2 Connect 240?

And will it only work with Cup 2 tires?

Yes. It's a unique system for Michelin tires only (Track Connect or Connect 240 tires only).

Are those tires holding up production of the US cars? Seems I read that somewhere.

They are the cup2 track connect. I was told the vehicles produced after July would get the cup 2 track connect. That could have been why we had to wait so long for orders to open.
