What is the OEM Suspension Height for the M340IX?

I had my shock mounts replaced, and they returned the car without connecting the EDC sensors and the suspension was ridiculously lifted. the dealer then said they recalibrated and lowered it to spec, and now they refuse to fix it any more.

I can easily stick my whole fist in between the wheel well and tire, and there is an uncomfortable amount of nose lift and body roll with turning or accelerating.

Does anybody know the OEM Suspension Height for the M340 xdrive?

I took pics side by side with another m340i, what do you think?

Also, I find it odd that there are absolutely no flat ride side profiles of the M340i anywhere on the internet. Every car points to the left! Please post your right side profiles!

According to newtis-info, there are two versions of sport suspensions for our M340iX: low-slung and not low-slug with a difference in ride-height of 8mm - https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/g...ral/1VnYiavVYg

My vehicle front ride-height measures ~ 635mm (with 19" wheels) so my vehicle appears to be equipped with the "not low-slung" suspension.

FYI, my rear ride-height also measures ~635mm (with 19" wheels).

Just measured mine and it's at 655mm front, and the rear is a little lower. Isn't that the spec for a base 330i?

Try the measurement I suggested (from the center of the center cap to the top of your fender). If it's more than 14.5 inches then you know something is up.

Yes, that would be what the newTIS.info states and your measurements appear to be consistent with mine. FYI, the link I posted is for the M340i xDrive.

I just measured. 15.7 Inches Front, 14.9 Rear.

I already knew something was up. Just another thing to add to the list.

Wow! That is crazy high! Did they leave the shipping blocks on the suspension maybe?

I'll find out soon enough. I'm going to a local BMW specialist on Wednesday.

It wouldn't be the first! I know lots of people who took delivery of cars with the shipping blocks still in place. I know of one guy who drove with it for 1000s of miles before realising it because his car looked high and the ride quality was horrible!

Same here. Search it up on various forums and you would be surprised how many times it comes up.

Hopefully that bit of curb rash was already there before the dealership started monkeying around with your car...if not, you have a little more to complain about.

The mechanic says the ride height definitely too high either because it was installed incorrectly or the springs we're swapped.

I asked if the springs have a part number, and he say unfortunately not.

now, what should I do?

They have part numbers for springs there.

But he says the ones on my car have no part number on them, so no way of telling.

If that's the case then tell him they need to order you a new set of springs that are for sure the correct part number. So they acknowledged your issue but let you walk away without a solution? What dealership is this??

Part numbers will be the same depending on the model/type of suspension etc. So saying the springs on your car don't have part numbers doesn't exactly make sense. Unless I'm missing something.

You also mentioned being able to stick your whole fist in the gap. I have the base suspension and it looks much lower than your car (I'm guessing the black car is yours). I definitely cannot stick my fist in there. So yes. Something is up if it's the same in all modes and the suspension height doesn't change.

It was an independant BMW shop. They were cool, they didn't charge me either.

It was an independent bmw specialist that just inspected it for me. They said all the other parts we're OEM but they can't tell with the springs. They were pretty sympathetic and said they would back me up if I need them in any other situation.

I was able to stick two fists when the dealer first returned the car to me and forgot to attach the EDC sensors. It looked like an SUV and drove like one too. It gave me confidence over pot holes, but I had to raise my seat to look over the hood. (I have a pic somewhere)They returned it, and said they calibrated it so they won't touch it anymore because BMW Canada won't cover it.

It's a disaster with the service in Toronto.

Took it to Markham as well, and they said they would charge me to inspect something that was already repaired, so I left.

Next week will be Pfaff, and maybe Oakville after that.

I would call BMW Canada instead of going to each dealer. Most of them will say the same thing since they didn't do the initial repair.
