Question When will it possible to order a G80 in an Individual Color?

I was new to BMW in the F8x gen (many S4's and RS4's going back to the early 2000s).

I want to get a Fire Orange G80 (6MT) and I want to know the approximate timeline for doing so. My F80 CS lease is up in early April but I am willing to extend it until my G80 arrives.

I am also willing to return the car early if the G80 delivery can take place before April (I made a huge mistake getting a CS in DCT and I'll do anything to get back into a 6MT ASAP).

Typically, with a new generation of M cars, how long into the production cycle does it take for BMW to approve Individual Colors?

I believe SOP for the F80 was 3/2014, and they started allowing individual orders for 7/2014, so if they follow the same timeline you might be looking at getting an allocation in 3/2021 for a May delivery in the US? The speculated SOP for the M-xDrive versions in July might throw a wrench at that hope, though.

Interesting about the MXDrive variable in the equation.

I wanted to do a Fire Orange F80 but production ended early and I still had a year left on my lease.

I don't believe the xdrive version will be offered with a 6MT. From what I recall, xdrive is only available in the competition version and only with an 8-speed auto transmission.

Correct, my remark there was just speculation around how ramping up at the factory to go-live with M-xDrive in July might take priority over expanding on the selection of individual items from a manufacturing/production stand point.

FO was initially locked out for some reason on F8x even after individual opened. My dealer had escalated it all the way up to corp.

I ended up ordering SO with individual interior and shortly after I got my car BMW started allowing FO. Sadtown...
