Russian downpipes for X3M

These are really interesting downpipes, because you can configure them with the high quality 300 cell GESI cats. Obviously not cheap but well worth the price tag imo (compare with Supersprint GESI downpipes). If you search bimmerpost for “Red Star Exhaust”, you will find that some people have already bought exhaust parts from them.

Hey guys. I have this in my car. Had them installed and fitted about 6 weeks ago.
Absolutely love them! Really good quality 👌

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in and say Red Star makes extremely high quality exhaust pieces. They have been growing rapidly in the Audi scene (my other car is an S4) and everyone loves them. They don't come cheap but just know you are paying for some of the best on the market!

Any exhaust modification that increases exhaust flow should help the turbos spool quicker which means boost at lower rpms. The more exhaust flow that is created the faster they spool. Question is how much is actually created. Really you'd need before/after dyno numbers to compare. It's been debated here that downpipes don't do much. But stock cats are usually pretty restrictive so it'll help at least some.

Maybe you will find this old thread interesting. We have yet to see an F97 downpipe salesman presenting plus/minus dyno results and I wonder why .

correct. I can bet with you that if you did that measurements (btw, should be 3 measurements per condition), there would be no statistically significant difference.

Maybe, downpipes only might freak out ecu too much. I'd like to see stg 1 vs stg 1 with dp then do stg2 or stand-alone (racechip, jb4, etc)vs stand-alone with dp

I have my dyno sheet. Fair and square.
But I won't release it since no one is doing fair comparison before and after on the same tune and gas, just downpipe difference.

All the dyno that I've seen are stock with 91, then catless with e30 tune or others.

Reviving the post, those who had installed Redstar, how's is it holding up? I am considering a DP for my G80. It looks like they are well known in the AMG and Audi community not so much in BMW.

Should a lot! I have decat downpipes and have no lag, but with decat it's a little bit loud, i mean when u cruising like 160 km/h - u hear the engine and with long trips it's could be boring, even in efficient mode with closed vales, 300cells cat should be nuts
