Courtesy lighting after opening doors

Sorry this is kind of a double post. I have a20 x3m. When I turn car off and have opened doors (I've checked everything in idrive), my headlights turn off and my doors handles and carpet lighting turn on, but no headlights. Can someone concretely confirm this is normal please

There is a headlight courtesy delay feature details can be found on page 178 of the manual. (Controls-Lighting)

You can set the duration via the idrive, <My Vehicle> <Vehicle settings> <lights> <exterior lighting> <home lights>

Thank you, so I just have to do it manually through the light stalk, correct? The lights won't automatically stay on? Just confirming if this is normal

It reads that way "if the high-beam headlights are activated with standby state switched on, the low beam head-lights remain on for a period of time"

I don't use them hence I read the manual to give an answer, as my home security lights light the way and I reverse on to the driveway.

Give it a go tonight and let us know.

I appreciate your help, and I did it last night and it works, I just want to confirm it is only manual, and not something wrong with my car, that the lights are not staying on automatically

No it looks like you've cracked it.

I'm going to give it a go tonight myself, just out of interest.

Just responded to your dm. When I kill the engine the headlights turn off (I have them set to auto) the daytime running lights remain on until I open the door. At which point only the welcome/carpet lights are on
