Car Auto Play Installed

Had Car Auto Play installed into my F30 335d yesterday, fantastic product. Gives the car full Apple Car Play and Android Auto, while utilising the original BMW screen.

Could you test out the wheel scroller on the right side of the steering wheel whilst playing music on Spotify/Deezer/Apple Music? Asked on the main thread but they seem to be responding that it works based on navigating through the MMI menu. Attached the pic of which scroller I am referring to.

Wanted to know if it shows the tracks on the black screen in the speedo, allowing you to select it if pressed?

Which system did you use ? Presumably a dedicated external MMI-type box. Car Auto Play does not seem to generate any clear results.

Haven't bought one yet, have the Andream MMI in mind but if it does not show in the black panel display and can't skip tracks ahead/behind I might not be able to justify it, as I currently can play spotify via Bluetooth or wired up, with both limiting my ability to skip tracks only via using the iDrive circular controller.

Only additional uses would be potential for rear/front camera, which again I am not in desperate need for (have front/rear PDC), and ability to use Waze/Google maps which is definitely a big plus, but my travels have been very limited and any non-regular routes have been learned now, so rarely use them.

Apple music does let me navigate the full playlist in the black panel display, however not as expansive for my personal music taste.

I fitted the Integrated Auto Wireless Carolay one the other week. Really good but I must admit would be better if the steering wheel controls worked to skip songs. You can do it on the phone and CarPlay but would have been nice if the steering wheel controls did too. It’s not a deal breaker for me.

I hold down iDrive controller to access Siri and say ‘skip’ etc for changing the music/track.

Yeah good point, Siri still works with activation or hey Siri to do things like that...

can you please name, or post a link to, the actual unit you had installed?

Too many results arise from Car Auto Play.

If you can also let us know who fitted it (if not yourself), and the cost of fitting that would be great.
