Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anybody had any information regarding an M Performance exhaust for the x3m/x4m. Is BMW planning on releasing one at some point? I have seen nothing online about it and was wondering if I should just go the Akrapovic route instead.

Just for clarity of discussion - historically on other M models, the Competition exhaust is not the same as the M Performance exhaust. The MP is usually more aggressive.

I haven't heard anything about an M Performance exhaust on the F97, although it may be a bit too early. Either way, it won't be nearly as aggressive as the Akrapovic anyway, so if you're into that one I would just pull the trigger.

This would be the exhaust std on the comp model. There is no m performance version as of yet. M branch not putting much effort into the f97/98 lineup. I guess they feel it's an suv, not much of a market for performance parts. I'd imagine once the g80/82 gets out there will be a bunch of s58 specific items we can use.

Anyone have the part number for the regular X3M/X4M muffler setup? I can't seem to find it.

I've got a non-Comp with the droning muffler issue and I wanted to see what the cost difference was between the base muffler and the unit included in the Comp package. Since they will be replacing mine anyway, wanted to see if I could get them to swap out for the Comp muffler setup. I'll even pay the difference (if any) in cost.
