X3m sounds like a tractor.

Just wondering if anyone else has this sound. Does not always sound like this but the first time I heard it I was looking around for a diesel truck.

Definitely sounds very weird, almost diesel like. I'd take it to the dealer just to see if they can take a look.

Very true. Luckily you have the video for proof and can hopefully show a tech.

That sounds funny. Does it settle down? Does it drive fine?

Can you open the hood and get the sound better? Figure out where it is coming from? Any mods?

I noticed this too, with under 500 miles. I haven’t really checked since and have had break in service. Running 93. Car runs and feels fine.

Sound comes and goes. Only hear it when the car is warmed up. No mods under 1k miles only use shell 93

This is my first bimmer, but for what it’s worth, I’ve noticed over the years the same tractor sound from others. Definitely weird.

Did you ever figure out what was causing this?

I have a similar sound though not as pronounced. However, I wonder if the vid exaggerates it though.

I have no engine/performance issues but chalked it up to the engine sound to not being a huge factor in the engineering.

Considering the exhaust note I thought they would have put more effort into the exterior isle sound.

2000 miles on mine and usually when I hear it the car is warm after a drive.

Curious if the dealer gives you any response but “normal”.
