EU customers - happy with comp exhaust?

Hi, I mentioned the EU because US has much louder setting than the EU ones.

Are you guys happy with sound from your exhaust? Sound level, deep and sound overall?

I will get my car in winter and I am thinking about aftermarket ones because of these eu regulations.

I imagine something like akrapovic does - louder than standard but still like normal. Then you have controller in your pocket you can open flaps and its super loud.
Other companies make it like mode setting for example in sportplus but it might be problem when police catch you or during technical control when they will measure it in "loudest car setting"

Only one problem with akrapovic is, its super expensive but no doubt the best.

Just a thought here, but if you have resonators in the EU you might simply remove those to get the sound you want and cost is cheap so its worth a try. I'm just not sure what the EU exhaust has on it though.

I'll be putting an X-pipe in replace of mine like I did on my 50i.

^^ what he said.

For my car i'm happy with the tone of the X5MC exhaust but wish it was a tad louder when I am driving. Cold start is already loud enough.

Wondering if Dinan will come out with a Xpipe that will bolt on to the X5M since they make one for the M5.

Had my X5MC 3 days ... stock exhaust is loud enough for me.

1st thing in the morning - wakes my wife, and probably the neighbours so, that's plenty!

the exhaust button turns the exhaust down when needed (e.g. following a funeral procession!) & when its on - for me - it allows just enough noise.

each to their own, but i have to balance exhaust sound with family, neighbours, and general "wanting-the-sound-but-not-unwanted-attention"!

A bit problematic here.

For example asked the remus, it has 3 stages when the first 2 of them will let you the guarantee as it stays.

1.Exhaust tailpipes (tiny difference)
2.exhaust pipe + tailpipes (dB are higher than eu restriction allows but you can "hide" that behavior in some of available modes)
——
3. Removing opf filter, coding to enable big shots (big sound difference (losing guarantee)

And Akrapovic which I mentioned above. But remus seems cost like 5x less than akra.
Both mentioned they are going to make it but not yet (winter-spring)

Yeah that makes sense, crazy how different the vehicles can be from one country to the next.

I will be getting the X pipe in soon, at US cost of 149$ just need to find the dang time.
