S676 to S677 swap, easy?
Hey, just creating this post to see if anybody has done this swap. Buying an E91 335i MT with everything I really want spec wise, but just now when comparing to my old E90 335i MT I see that car had S677. I thought they were the same since both had tweeters by the mirror.
Anyways, just wondering if it is a easy swap. Might be able to get every part needed from the scrapyard since that is where my old car is now... |

I would say no it's not an easy swap .
And you could have something better than Logic 7 by going aftermarket. Seems to be popular in Europe though. |

If you already have Hi Fi it's the easiest system to modify.
Technic Harness to attach to the existing amp connector. Amp or Amp/DSp and use some of the many BMW Compatible Speakers now available. Realistic prices for a quality setup would be more like 1500 plus.
The existing wiring is used in all but the most extreme cases. (High Wattage per channel) You said you already had Hi Fi option 676. If you don't have either you have no wiring to the Trunk . Doing a retrofit of Logic 7 and programming the Head unit is a bigger project as the whole wiring harness for has to be changed and the Head Unit reprogrammed. Plus you have to source Rear Door Panels in the same Color and material that have speaker holes. Logic 7 is a 9 channel 13 speaker system Hi Fi is a 6 channel 10 speaker system You said you had 676 or implied it in the first Line 676 is Hi Fi. And it's not very good. The absence of 676 or 677 is the base or stereo system no tweeters headunit power only.(SO WHAT DO YOU REALLY HAVE?) Last edited by ctuna; 08-26-2020 at 07:31 AM.. |
