Replacement vehicle

My x7 was given a trade assist after tons of issues. Now I left with either waiting 6 weeks for my loaded 2021 to be built or take an x5m competition that's on the lot. I know they are different cars but I've been telling my lady we used the 3rd row a total of 7 times in the year we had the x7. That x5m surely is tempting

No way. Ride of the X7 is in another league as well as other 7 series upgrades. DHP with air suspension gives the best of both world and gets rid of any nasty tire/fender gap.

I absolutely needed an X7 for the 3rd row that gets used daily but if I didn't need the extra row I would be in something more sporty, like an RS6 or M5. Sorry that's not what you asked

Out of curiosity though, what were the X7 issues you've had and what model/engine did you have?

X5M does look nice as does the interior and power. guess you need to see why you wanted the X7 and if X5M will work, then why not.

I have never gone through the buy back process on a vehicle, but do you trust that BMW has resolved whatever issue it is that caused the buy back? If not, even though the X7 and X5 share some things, the X5M is enough different it may not suffer from the same issues. Also, unless you need the third row, or cargo space, the X5M would be more fun to drive.

Go for the X5M Competition. I only chose the X7 because of the cargo space and with the Captain's chairs I can sneak snowboards and snowboards in without using a roof rack. If you do not need the third row or the slightly increased cargo area go for the X5M. You will not regret it.

So I ended up pulling the trigger on a fully loaded 2021 x7 40i. So it's now time for the waiting game. By the way I test drove the x5 m competition today. Way too much car. I mean I love it, but it's very unnecessary I would loose my NYC license in a week lol. Also BMW did us well. Not able to talk about the deal but pretty much they are taking back our car and got a decent discount on the new one. And I am able to keep the old one until the new one is made.

Glad to hear of your resolution. Best of luck with the transition and new ride!
