Who has a rear-facing car seat in your X3M?
Does anyone here have a rear facing car seat in their X3M? Curious how it fits and how tight a squeeze it is for you. I've seen some threads about car seats in the regular X3, but the X3M sport seats seem to be a different depth than the regular seats. Any experience?

I have a Chicco KeyFit 30 installed in a rear facing position in my X3MC. I have it installed in the middle location and am able to keep both the driver and passenger seats in their usual positions for my wife and I with no adjustments. It would be an uncomfortable but not impossible fit behind my 5 ft 6 in wife in the passenger seat. I'm just under 6 ft and it would be very uncomfortable if not impossible behind me in the driver seat.

I have a Britax rear facing infant child seat behind the passenger seat and my wife wishes she could recline the seat an inch or 2 more. But it fits a lot better than in her X1. We may move it to the center of the rear seat.

I have a M40i and a Graco 4-1 behind the driver seat in rear-facing for my toddler and it's for sure a tight squeeze. I'm only 5'10" and tend to sit a little closer to the wheel and can only move back maybe another 1"-2". I imagine an infant seat would be even worse but normally keep that in the middle anyways.

If and when the family grows we can definitely add a seat to the passenger rear seat. But at that point I may graduate to a bigger suv. |

Good thread...been wondering this myself. Looking at this vs an X5...and while I love the luxury, I really wanted the power of the X3M.
I just feel the rear may be cramped with 2 babyseats in the back (2 kids under 2). Future 2nd kid will be in a ChicoKeyFit and my 2 year old is in a Diono Radian 3 RXT rearfacing. My wife's Q5 isn't bad...but the Diono sits behind the passenger seat and when I'm sitting in it, I want more room. I'm fearing this car may not work as I've already killed the Stelvio Quadrifoglio off the list due to space...and the X3M will probably be next. |

I have two infant seats in mine (twins). Fit it fine, but I am short, 5'4". I'm still sitting slightly forward but it's ok. My wife is about 5'6" and she makes it work too but the seat is a bit more forward than how we would normally sit if there was not a car seat behind us.

Here is a pic of the seats in my OLD 2016 X4, which was much much tighter than the 2020 F98. I'm sure the F97 would do it even better, especially given the larger door opening in the rear. Last edited by spucktacular; 12-20-2023 at 02:10 PM.. |

Back in time a little here. Are you using latch or the belt? We got a nuna turtle 1 but doesn't fit with latch :/

I have a Doona in mine and had to put it behind the passenger seat. I could put it behind driver seat, but I'd have to slide the seat forward a bit and it wouldn't be too comfortable for me for long drives. I use the LATCH/ISOFIX system and definitely use the seat protector.

I have two clek foonfs... one forward facing and one rear facing ... the rear facing does take quite a bit of room from the passenger side ... my wife who is petite sits fine but I imagine anyone taller might have some issues...

I just discovered this thread and this is a very current topic for me. Does anyone know if the Cybex Sirona S spinning convertible seat will fit in the X3MC?
Also more photos of people's setups would be highly appreciated as this is a tricky topic to do some research on. Thank you. |
