Drivetrain malfunction and JB4 map question

Hi guys,

First I’m new on here so please be patient with me. I tried searching the threads for my issue and I have found a few topics, but each one wasn’t consistent with the other and left me more confused.

Alright. So my car is a 2020 M5 competition with about 6k miles on it. A few days ago I had a reputable shop here in AZ install my catless down pipes (primary and secondary). Yesterday I also installed the JB4 tune (all connections with Bluetooth). For the first few hours I was running the car normally trying to get the ecu to adjust but last night the car went into limp mode on full throttle between 4th and 5th. The car gave me a drivetrain malfunction and the codes on JB4 are:

120719 No Description Found
120719 No Description Found

Not sure how to fix it but I don’t think it should be doing that. I deleted the codes this morning for another spin but this time the code came up on 3rd gear at about 60% on throttle.

I’m assuming this is obviously related to my pipes and the tune but I need some sort of direction of how to fix it. The car overall runs smooth and feels strong. At the same time I feel that it should feel stronger. I did read another post from jb4 which breaks down different maps and there really isn’t anything that mentions which map to run with down pipes. I have no issues knowing I have to delete the catless pipe code whenever it pops up but going into limo mode mid drive is something I don’t want to experience. I’ve been in map 1.

This is at full throttle on 4th gear and a pic of my car.

Thank you all in advance!

Version 9 also updated today. Car felt better but the drivetrain malfunction came up again after about a 30 minute drive on the HWY.

This are the codes from the jb4 app:
120719 No Description Found

Hey,

The map that you run is related to the octane level of your fuel not anything else. If your on 91 you should only run map 1, if your on 93 you can run map 2 anything else requires good fuel.

You could just be running to aggressive of a map, you should only be in map 1 if you're just starting out. Run that for a while and make sure your getting no errors.

"Code :120719 Charging pressure control: Charging pressure too high" I believe is a known fault code triggered by the JB4

There is a forum for j90 jb4 stuff : https://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52314

Although I'm not sure I can tell by just the graph the throttle should be smoother unless you had traction control on you should probably submit an actual log over a the forum I mentioned (the .csv log not a picture) Also it looks like your at ~28 PSI based on that graph which should probably only be done with really good gas

If you're running 93 octane and you're only in map 1 but are still getting errors you might have plugged something in wrong - (I think some people screwed up the passenger side EWG plug)

Hope this info helps and good luck getting it figured out!

Thank you!

I am running only in map 1 and on 91. That’s all we really have here unless I start adding e85. I appreciate the link and will read it now.

There is an updated firmware for the JB4 that may help. It was a beta version when I loaded it. Here is a link to some discussion before the firmware fix came out.
