I am getting quotes for extended warranty and they are all north of 4.5K for extra 2 yrs and wondering whether it’s worth it. Our current MB GL had extended warranty for 6 yrs and I can recall only few small things that needed to be fixed under warranty after the first 4 yrs. Still wondering if $2400 per year worth of warranty is a good idea or not. I know there are other threads where members have shared their thoughts about extended warranty but I just wanted to see what proportion of owners are actually buying it.

I just picked my new X7 M50i up today. I never get extended warranties and I buy them outright and tend to keep my vehicles. If a vehicle gives me catastrophic problems I trade them in. That only has happened one time and it was a new RR in 7 months. I know in 4 years of a vehicle will be trouble or not. I NEVER had serious issues with any of my German cars.

I have been shopping around at various Extended Warranty Plans to include the BMW Extended Warranty. Like to get some folks feedback, experience, avoid remarks, etc. on the various plans I have gotten competitive quotes. I have been reading all the exclusionary clauses that each have to include the BMW Extended Warranty which is similar to many and in some cases surprising what they would put in exclusionary clauses:

BMW Extended Warranty - 84/100k ($0 Deduct)
Sentinel/AUL - 84/100k up to 96/150k ($100 deductible)
Endurance - 84/100k ($250 deductible)
CarChex - 84/100k ($250 deductible)

haven't had luck finding a Zurich plan

One thing I like about the BMW Extended plan is they will used BMW parts; but the issue it is about 2.5 more cost than they others and I have a very competitive price for the plan which I haven't been able to get better anywhere else so far.

I am currently debating in my mind between Sentinel/AUL and BMW Extended. Sentinel went out of their way to help clarify a specific language point within their contract which is gets props in my book. When an organization isn't willing to put in writing clarity what they mean then it isn't worth it in my book.
