Interior Bike Rack
I was looking for an interior bike rack but didn’t like any of the options available to buy so I made my own using an aluminum extrusion that G01 guys with the trunk floor tracks option use. Wanted something I can quickly install and remove and wasn’t noticeable when not used. Pretty happy with the results for under $100.
Part List (For 2 bikes): 8020.net Part No. 1515-Black. (Measure to your desired rack length) Part No. 4295-Black (2) pc. Part No. 3203. (4) pc. mcmaster.com Part No. 99607A249 (2) pc. Part No. 99607A248 (4) pc. Part No. 90064A795 (1) pack amazon.com EVO Quick Release Fork Mount (2) pc. |

This is a great solution.
Are the brackets bolted into the frame of the seat? If not what are they bolted to?
I’m not particularly comfortable pulling my expensive car to bits in order to find out and then find I can’t put it back together again. I’ve seen a number of solutions around but nothing that secures the bikes to the car without using ratchet straps to the anchor points, this being a bit restrictive to loading other items. In the worst case of an accident I’d rather not have the bike join me in the front of the car. I hope you might reply to this thread as I am a new member of the forum. Thanks in advance. |
