Retrofit LCI Tail Lights on the G30 5 Series / F90 M5 LCI (part numbers)

BIMMERPOST

G30 / F90 LCI tail light part numbers (posted by @e36mcab)

Part numbers: https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...3&d=1598956622

Full retrofit of the LCI rear lights installed today. For more pictures head over to insta @minda_sm

Info:

Bought the lights from a main dealer, will also need the 4 cover trims as they are a different shape. Fitting is straight forward on the outers, the inners will need to be repined on the plug and some additional wires from the BDC. All will need the coding.

Anyone in the UK, i can put you in touch with the chap that done the coding and wiring.

Well this is interesting! Didn't even think this would be an option. Nice job! Can you talk more about it?

That one post said they needed a new bumper to do this. I doubt it needs a new rear bumper. I would bet the bumper is the exact same. It's likely plug and play....I just didn't think they had replacement parts out so quickly.

Iv been in touch with the guy in the UK here and units are Ł800 plus fitting around Ł200. Units, wiring and coding from what I understand. Just waiting for formal confirmation that nothing else is needed from what I can see so far and will get these done once my first full service has been completed.

Just had it confirmed nothing else is needed other than a new bracket. There are no part numbers at the moment so a little tricky to get hold of but as he says, anything is possible!!! A very respected guy here in the UK and has completed loads of work on previous cars of mine.

What bracket do you think is needed?

Not far off with the figures, but you will also need the four trims

And you lost me at rewiring to the BDC. Oh well. Lol

Nice to see all is possible. Brackets are what he called them so cover trims perhaps they are called. Still not a bad outlay for a refreshed rear end. Car looks nice too in that colour!!

Yeah, ok... but why? I honestly can't really tell the difference. In my opinion, this is a project that's not worth the money or the time.

I agree with you.

The new lights look cool, but not cool enough to justify buying a new OEM set and replacing the perfectly acceptable (and good-looking) previous model year lights.

Better to save the money for an actual performance mod. Upgrading to these lights is about the same as wasting money on the complete carbon fiber engine cover set.

Indeed. Speaking of not understanding why some people mod the car the way they do, at least a retrofit of LCI tail lights is better than seeing a slammed M5 with airbags.

Yeah, we need some part numbers. I don't see any OEM part websites reporting 2021 parts yet.

Guess that ended well, also interested and can't seem to find any part numbers on Realoem.com. Wonder if this is plug n play or will it require any wiring/coding.
