M340i Brakes

Hi all,

I have a 2020 M340i in the UK, it's a fantastic all rounder and very much enjoying it but I find the brakes a little spongy. There seems to be a lot of travel on the pedal and they will only bite really hard if I apply a fair amount of force on the pedal. Has anyone else noticed this? I would just prefer if they were sharper.

I find the same with mine, brakes seem to be 'spongy' at times. Not a very confidence inspiring feel.

I think mine is similar. I remember watching a review that said the M340i brakes were a lot sharper than standard. Wondering if that car had the larger front discs which were an option on the saloon?

Yes I read the same - they had reduced the travel of the brakes to offer a sharper braking experience.

I do have the M tech pack so the larger brakes so can't compare with cars without this pack but I find the brakes very very good. A soft press scrubs off enough speed and when you need too a firm press inspires a lot of confidence.

Saying that my previous M140i had the same brakes as the standard M brakes and if I compare the two the M140i was a little spongy compared to my M340i.
