Need a very good rim cleaner.

My car is stock and I have stock rims. The Brake dust seems to be like baked on. I scrub and scrub and it won't come off. What can I use to get it off? Also anyone know a tool that I can use to clean both inside my rim? Can anyone suggest something that doesn't consider so much energy? What type of cleaner should I use? I want to wash the car myself.

I'm sure there are a number of detailers on here who can give you advice on getting a great rim job. . .

if it is really bad...move up to an acidic wheel cleaner...

VERY STRONG STUFF!, but Meguiars Wheel Brightener will take care of just about anything! So be careful!

Have to be VERY careful. Nasty stuff. I screwed up my powdercoated OEM wheels by letting the acidic solution sit on my wheels for too long.......

If you are having a real tough time even with washing with a mitt, you might want to try 0000 steel wool. It should do the trick.

Good luck bro. Good to see you here btw!

P21S wheel gel is fine, but it won't do much on really baked on dust, especially in the inner hub. I'd go with Poorboys Spray & Rinse or as mentioned, Meguairs Wheel Brightener. With either of those two do me a favor and wear a painters mask and gloves. I know you are probably thinking "whatever", but HF will seriously screw you up if you get enough of it on your skin or in your lungs. It won't hurt on the skin, but it will penetrate your skin/tissue and can etch your bones. Srsly.

On their use. Normally I spray on (either 1:1 S&R with water or 5:1 water:WB), let sit for 1 min then spray off. That usually does it. Sometimes you need a brush to agitate or two applications.

About the Spray & Rinse, Poorboys says, "This product can be used on clearcoated, painted, chrome, and even plastic hub caps, but should NOT be used on uncoated wheels without dilution and spot testing, or hot wheels."

When they mean "uncoated", what do they mean? If you clean by hand, then apply Poorboys Wheel Sealant, can you then use the S&R on subsequent washes? Sounds like the HF may just take off the sealant, no?

They mean un-cleared aluminum wheels.

S&R will take off wheel sealant. The two products really aren't designed to work together. What I mean is when you apply WS the idea is you're cleaning often enough that you can clean the wheels with soap and water. S&R is designed to clean really neglected wheels. When I use S&R or WB it's only on wheels that need it. If I can clean a wheel with soap & water I do. Also, I *only* use them on painted wheels and mags, never chrome or even clear-coated aluminum.
