16 FBO M235i smelling oil after WOT runs.
Hey everyone!
I'll cut straight to the chase, I've had my M235i FBO running MHDs stage 2+ tune now for a few months. Thing runs great and can't be happier for a ots tune! My recent issue is this, I'm starting to smell a tiny bit of oil every now and again after full pulls, mind you I'm extremely hard on my car and while, I make sure to warm the car up ie(not going over 2800rpms until 90c minimum temp) the engine only has 62k kilometres. I change the oil every 3200kms(I know..very overkill) but it isn't my daily and it does get tracked. I've checked the valve cover and it seems to be fine no leaks. Ive been using penzoil euro L since I bought the car almost a year ago now and it's been flawless. This being my first turbo car, is it normal for it to burn a small amount of oil when run in hard? I check my oil level every other week and it's never gone down according to the dme. Every now and again I'll notice the ever so slight Lil puff of blue smoke on cold start but I really mean small...and it's not every time. After every hard run I allow it to cool down and it never sees temps about 115c. Check my mod list for further info on the car.

I'm M235 stock and drive pretty hard, usually after a 15 or 20 mile highway sustained high-speed or back road with hard acceleration through the gears into the upper 6Krpm range I open the hood to cool things, don't smell any (BMW 0W30) oil.
Tend to run the HVAC heat hot on high blower through the footwell to keep the engine cooler. If some oils are more aromatic I don't know, but I really don't smell any oil. I'm also not getting any acrid brake pad odors. |

I'm only at bm3 Stage 1 93 for the last couple months and don't smell any oil. I haven't tracked mine and the opportunity to really "give 'er" is not as available as I'd like, but still loving it LOL.

So I actually changed my oil today and I noticed oil around the charge pipe...it had leaked onto my control arm. I think my turbo is having blow by into the charge pipe but I have a catch can as well set up and it never really bad anything in it. Maybe my turbo seals are starting to fail...I don't know. It runs like a beast though
