Strange wire with connector on the right side luggae area
If you open the trunk and check on the top right corner, this connector hanging loose. Does anyone know what it is? Honestly I don't know if it's been like that since I bought the car or not.
Sorry for the rotated pics. |

No clue but probably needs to be attached to the rear defroster.

I'm thinking rear defroster. You could always try to remove the trim and see if you can reconnect it. Or have your BMW dealer take care of it, it will be covered under warranty.

I checked my X3M and can feel a wire behind the trim in that location. As suggested by cipher5, best guess would be the rear defroster. Check to see if yours works. Looks like a OEM locking connector so unlikely to have come loose on its own. Assembly line error (Monday morning car), or dealership did some work and forgot to reconnect?

I’ve got my hatch apart for sound deadening. Is this the plug? If so it’s part of the rear defroster.
It’s on the passenger (US) side towards the top. EDIT - towards the bottom. My hatch is open and I’m upside down If not let me know and I can take other pics. Last edited by spta97; 07-07-2020 at 03:33 PM.. |
