I just asked the same question in the F44 forums. Both the F40 and F44 use the same NFC module and wireless charging module.

Someone did it on a G30 and I'm sure if you ordered the correct parts, retrofit can be done as well as some coding work to turn on the wireless charging module function in idrive.

Every model would have different part numbers. Have you checked out realoem? By keying in your Vin number, u can check the required parts and their respective part numbers

BMW ETK will only list what the vehicle is equipped with. So the best thing to do is to go out of VIN like I just did to look up the parts. I am told you will need both #1 and #3 to retrofit wireless charging. The only coding would be to do is "not leave phone reminder" and if you want extended bluetooth. From what I've read on the G20 forum you can use the app Bimmercode.

Edit: My cousin just did this retrofit in his G01 X3 M Comp and it was plug and play. The wiring and plug was already under the console. The NFC pad works the same as before and he just coded the two features I mentioned.

Alternatively, you could buy the universal charging station.

As far as you know is there available somewhere some guide/manual to unmount that part on the Series 1 f40? I got my car one 5 days ago and I'm scared about trying to unmount the parts without any guide for hidden screws or whatsoever .

I want to check whether there are some wires.

Furthermore, where can I find the image you posted?

It is supposed to be this to be mounted:

Anyone got any pics/guides on how to swap the parts over?

Have ordered the part for our 2 series GC but not sure how to switch the parts over.

Lightbulb

Did you have to disconnect the battery to install this part?
Have you had a BMW digital key before? I wonder if the car came without this function because there was no charger, if I install it myself, I can use this key?
How complicated is the assembly? Will someone tell me please how many plugs and where I need to plug in this part?

Has anyone added a wireless charger to their car? My car was produced without wireless charging.
I saw that is is possible to buy an OEM wireless tray (5A0E551) but I am not sure if the car that did not have this tray will have a bundle of cables to mount it?
Additionally, anyone knows if it possible retrofit of BMW DIGITAL KEY? My car was also produced without that key with information „32Z ENTFALL BMW DIGITAL KEY”. The car has an NFC handle on the driver's side.
I wonder if I add a wireless charging tray it will help with the bwm digital key or this needs to be activated on bmw connected drive servers?

Hey guys,

Yes, it can be done, 100% and it keeps NFC so you can use the credit card or your phone to start the car etc.

I did this to my car a few weeks back and I highly recommend it.

The part number you need is: 9442419

No tools required. Simply pull (hard, but jently, no tugging) on the existing unit, from the raised lower edges. It pops out. Disconnect it, plug in the new unit, then push it back in.

It will take you no more than 2 minutes.

No coding required, no errors. Works 100% perfectly.

If you need any info, let me know. Happy to help.

I purchased it on eBay and it doesn't seem like he has any left. Only a bulk lot.

Contact the seller, see if he is willing to sell a single unit.
