Dme, bm3, jb4????

went to the track today. 90 degrees 3000DA stock car. Looking to tune the car. I would most likely go with DME as they are local to me. The only issue with DME is they said there is not a hand held out yet for the 2020. So I can't swap the car back to stock. I still learning about this platform and would like some feedback on who/what tuner is the best.

Go with bm3
Perfect power and you can flash it back whenever you want and it's less expensive !

I vote dme .. but didn't realize you need to do a bench flash on 2020 models.

I went with DME since they're right over the bridge from me. Considered BM3 as well but I just wanted something basic. Didn't want the need to play around with too many settings. I guess it comes down to what you want.

Hey Joe,

Please connect your vehicle to the laptop, start the obd agent and proceed with the activation procedure on www.bootmod3.net Send us a screenshot of the software ID’s (Please see page 11 of this manual https://bootmod3.atlassian.net/wiki/...d3+User+Manual)

Based on the software ID’s we will be able to read if your vehicle has the latest BMW’s software update that locks the DME or not.

Kind regards,

Zanin

I emailed them yesterday. This was their response. I need to get the obd2 cord for my laptop. Just curious where everyone is getting them from. Im gonna go with BM3 if it will work with my car.

Contact my friends @BM3Tuning or @TristateBm3 914-709-5250 they can do ECU Unlock/OBD Patch for your M5 and Flash it.

Every late model 2019 but 100% 2020 models are requiring this because all brands have put newer software with more security to avoid OBD write(flashes).

I had to do it on my 2020 X4M and they did a few of my local friends F90 M5/M8, 2020 M850, M550 and bunch of M340 and Supra that are locked from factory.
