Owners Manual

Is it just me or is the owners manual written in such a way that it just makes you give up trying to understand the functions of the car

You can download the app Driver's guide. If you put in your VIN you will only have the options on your car. Text is the same. Search function is much easier.

The manual is clearly written by engineers for engineers. It reads extremely like a functional engineering design specification, something you would produce for complex systems in a traditional engineering process flow. The only things that make it kind of like a user manual are pretty pictures and reduced detail.

Now it is possible that something with this complexity and permutations can't really be described in another way, so I think I forgive them a bit.

I’ve already done that and I still lose the will to live trying to follow it. Seems like there’s a great many profiles and their settings that are just not necessary, maybe just me again though

There are many, many settings but the good thing is you can basically ignore most of them if you want. They best thing the manual provides is an idea of what is available and then if something piques your interest you can delve into that further by trying different settings and of course asking for advice/assistance here.

I find the manual very confusing. I am using only a fraction of the capabilities of the Drivers Assistance Package, because I can't follow the manual.

Yeah I agree. It doesn’t explain things very well at all; it’s either overly verbose and needlessly complicated, or it goes the complete opposite direction and it barely explains or describes anything at all.

I figured out the driver assistance package just via trial and error. Now it's like second nature. But I agree with you, I didn't walk away from reading that section in the manual feeling like I understood the features any better.

Btw once you get the hang of it, it's tremendous. I haven't driven a Tesla but this implementation is basically seamless
