Early Lease Termination? Mileage Credit?
Does BMWNA offer early lease terminations to spur new leases? Also, is there any credit given to low mileage? Because of the pandemic my mileage is going to be WAY under my 10K annual limit.

I'm going to be in the same boat. I'll probably have 20k miles on my 30k mile lease. I'm going to see what resale value will be, I might be better off buying it out at the end of the lease and reselling it since purchase price is fixed and assumes higher mileage. Would be funny if the trade in value were higher, and could buy and out then trade in towards new lease. Lol.. But probably not.

Your best bet if you have 6+ months left is to swap out of it, especially given the demand right now, else I'd say to sit it out till you're ready to shop. Sadly the imaginary residuals on these aren't very conducive to Vroom or Carvana'ing them. |

I'm not aware of any official current programs. BMWFS does offer unused lease mileage credit, though it's very mediocre compared to other automakers - Acura offers up to 15,000 unused lease miles can be rolled over to your next Acura Luxury Lease: Unused Mileage Credit BMWFS will offer a mileage credit in certain circumstances if you are under your contractual mileage. The credit should be added to your FS account upon leasing a new vehicle. Percent of Contractual Miles not Utilized 10%-14.9% 15%-24.9% 25%-100% Credit Offered for Unused Mileage $200 $250 $300 Example: If you have a 2 year/20k lease, and you used 18k miles, you would receive a $200 credit. Should you ground the car early, this lease credit would not apply. NOTE: There have been reports of individuals having to reach out to BMWFS to apply the credit. Please keep your eyes on your account to ensure the credit was issued, should you be eligible.

I don't expect BMW or any manufacturer to pay for unused mileage. It would be nice but not expected. Part of a lease agreement is risk assignment. As the person taking use of the asset, we have no worries about future value. BMW takes the full risk here for better or worse.
Anyway I too am in the same boat. Win some and lose some. |

At the rate we are driving the X5 we will probably have about 15k miles at 3 years. The lease allows 30k. Haven't checked the residual value but I doubt it would make sense to buy it.
