AUX doesn't work on my E92 330i
I recently purchased a 2010 E92 330i, however I'm unable to get AUX input to work on my phone.
Even when my phone is plugged in to the AUX under the armrest, idrive won't let me adjust AUX volume from being locked to zero. I really have tried everything, but the only way I'm able to play my own music in my car right now is by transferring music from a USB stick, which is obviously not ideal since I want to be able to use Spotify, etc. I've done a lot of research but it there is so much conflicting information. Some of the threads on these forums have people saying its something to do with there being no combox in this model (then why is there an AUX input with AUX volume on idrive?), some saying the aux only supports ancient ipods, and some with other theories. Any suggestions? I'd be willing to pay money for some sort of retrofit if it's required, but it seems strange I can't at least use a super basic AUX port. |

But all of these models should at least support aux input, right? Even after reading all of this I cant get my head around why aux input wouldnt work on my phone.

So are you saying other sources do allow you to adjust the Aux?
Or other phones do? The modules that support the aux, phone and usb break quite frequently. But if other phones work and yours doesn't then it your phone you should be looking at. |

I managed to sort this by replacing the MULF in the boot. The AUX would occasionally start working for a day or two before breaking again, although it would be broken 90% of the time.
I firstly replaced the AUX module, but it didn't fix anything. I basically bought a MULF2 from ebay for £30 used, plugged it in, and my AUX was good to go again! |

Glad to hear that helped. I'm encountering the same issue in a 2008 328xi I just purchased, in which AUX doesn't work. Oddly, though the car has almost no corrosion, the MULF2-HI unit in the trunk looks a bit corroded. Dunno whether to start with the cheaper Aux / USB connector replacement or the MULF2 . Radio, CD, etc works. Just not USB / AUX, but I do hear a feedback noise when I turn the AUX volume up.
