How to mix text and pix

I would like to know how to make a post where you first have text, then a pic or two below the text, then more text, then another pic below that and so on. When I post, I have only been able to put all the text first followed by all the pix last.

Anyone know how?

Are you looking to post like this?
https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...10&postcount=2

If you're using the Bimmerpost mobile app on mobile or tablet, forum posting is very limited to text followed by images as attachments.

On a mobile or tablet device, you'll need to use your favorite mobile web browser - Safari, Edge, Chrome - either in mobile or request desktop viewport for more posting capabilities.

Or jump on your laptop, pick your browser and use WYSWYG regular or advanced.

If you're posting on a desktop/laptop browser, go into your User CP and set your message editor interface.

User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options, then scroll all the way to the bottom.

Auricom , I'm not quite following how you put the pictures in there. I would assume, perhaps incorrectly, that you typed the [ATTACH] tag but how did you get the attach id? Or am I on the wrong track?

EDIT: Got it. After attaching I opened the link for the attachment and got the id.

Yep, the WYSIWYG editor inserts the attachment with the [ATTACH] [/ATTACH] tag with attachment ID.
Also if you want to have fun with vBulletin BB code:

Thanks guys, let's see how well it works for me.. ..I changed from Basic to WYSIWYG.. ..and sorry, I neglected to mention that I'm on a desktop.

Like TurtleBoy said, after I had the attachment loaded, I went back to its link in the Manage Attachments window and copied the ID from the browser's address - this is a lot of work when considering having a bunch of pix mixed in with text, is this really the only way?

The end result is what I was looking for, so thanks much for showing me a way to do it!

Yeah, seems like a lot of work but you can "insert all images" after you've uploaded them all and then add comments in between. You don't need to copy the ID from the browser address or manage attachment window. I use the attachment window to upload or remove any attachments that I no longer need for the post.

Sometimes I'll start on my iPhone, post reply or reply with image. Then I'll move back later to desktop, edit my post and insert the attachment into the post versus leaving it as an attachment which is why you'll see images as "attachments" - which indicates the forum member posted from the Bimmerpost app.

Usually I would:

1. type up my post

2. upload all attachments using the "Manage Attachments" pop-up window

3. in the WYSIWYG editor, use the attachment drop down and insert the asset by clicking on the attachment name in the drop down where I want it to appear in my post.

Thanks again Auricom, I'll have to spend more time playing with it as my post involved 20 pix and as I got to the end, I think around pix 17, I may have overloaded the editor because it put my text in the wrong place and refused my attempts at correcting it It looks correct in the editor but its wrong in the final post - go figure.

However, for the most part, it worked and I thank you for your help

Some other tips from someone who's been uploading images to the forums for more than a decade:

If you're going to attach pic uploaded from your CPU or other device...you may want to resize them to something like 800x600. If you're images are huge...like 3500x2500...you may get rejected or may only be able to upload a few (if you have lots of images you want to upload).

Also remember that you can either type the [ I M G ] & [ / I M G ] HTML tags before & after the URL address of a pic that has already been uploaded to an image sharing site or one from the internet that already has an URL address (which you can get by left clicking or using the smartphone/device equivalent).

Or if you're in ADVANCE mode/Desktop mode...you can click on the IMAGE icon which will open a dialog box for you to paste the URL address...and it will then automatically insert the HTML image tags around that address where you want it in your message (see pic below which is from another forum but this one uses similar icons):

And you can also use the "center", "indent", or other options that can help you insert the images in an easier layout within your message.

Right you are, I've played around with most of the options in the editor but rarely post a pix from the internet, they are from my puter. I've not used any of these yet. I really wish it supported drag-n-drop!
