BMW Connected Not Connecting...
I was able to sign up and get my X5 linked, but for some reason I cannot see my vehicle status (doors locked or unlocked...see photo below) or get the location through the BMW connected app. I did unlock everything in the vehicle data privacy setting.
Commands won’t work, either. Any ideas? I’m new to this app and feature. Thanks. Last edited by Frenetic; 06-04-2020 at 07:11 AM.. |

You can also try to log in to CD on your computer and see if this works. Do you have display key that works? |

Thanks. I checked online and remote services was activated.
I went ahead and turned it off and back on and now my vehicle isn’t found in the app... And when I try to add my vehicle back in it’s giving me an error... |

Yeah, I tried the same thing.
At this point I’m wondering if there is something physically wrong with our cars. It could be a bad communication module or whatever. That’s why I asked that other new owner if he was able to connect as it could easily be a common hardware problem from a supplier who just made a bad batch...and unlucky us. Steve, have you contacted BMW Connect’s Customer Support line for remedy or your dealer? |

I am in a similar boat I think. In the iOS app, the car is shown in the middle of a major road about 60 miles from where I am, like it stopped working mid flow. None of the remote control features work, like charge conditioning (I have a 45e), remote lights flash, 3D view etc. and yet it shows the accurate odometer value!
Tried all the other suggestions of logging out and in of both car and app, deleting app etc, on phone and also logging in to the web portal to see what is set, but no joy |

I've had the same issue, BMW CA people told me to update the app in the car, then shut it off for at least 30 minutes, delete & reinstall the app on the phone, I did all that with no success. They tried sending a signal to the car & it wouldn't receive it. Sometimes the app updates the mileage and conditions, sometimes it doesn't for a week or so, but I still can’t get the app to do a remote start or do a Remote 3D View.
It used to work but doesn’t now. They suggested I take it to the dealer which I did, they said it could take as long as a week to trouble shoot it, as the CA people frequently tell them the system is down. The app seems to have some troubles and isn't at all perfect. There are other posts on this forum expressing the same difficulty with this app. |

So I called BMW Connected Customer Service and they performed some tests and confirmed that my car can be communicated with remotely. Had this test failed, it would have indicated a likely hardware issue with the car itself and they would have referred me to the dealer, but thankfully this test did not fail.
So, they mentioned it is likely a server/account issue on their end and that it can take up to three weeks (or more) to resolve. Good grief, talk about slow. They opened up a trouble ticket, gave me a reference number and said to expect an email when it is resolved--in three or more weeks. They also said that there is a system-wide intermittent issue right now with vehicle status (i.e., fuel indication, location, etc.) and they have no ETA on when that will be fixed...this may be what you are experiencing jonjo001. |

I would call BMW connected. When I bought mine my account was cross connected with another unknown person so nothing worked even though it showed everything was good on the web site. Took about 4 try’s, but finally when the fixed my account everything started working. Look at your profile and make sure your name and address are correct. If all good, change your password on the web site which will force you to update your profile in the car. Make sure only one key is in the car. Another thing you can try is to see if the app works on the other (sub) key profile account.

Thanks, but my information is correct. However, one thing that may be related is that I leased a BMW E46 back in 2003 or 4 and they still had my old email address in one of my online accounts (forgot which one) when I was setting that up. However, my listed address is the same.

Well my BMW connect started working today...
This may just all be a coincidence, but this past weekend I filled out the new-car survey they send you upon purchase. For the part where it asked me if I would recommend a BMW to a friend, I said no and it asked me why. I put in BMW connect wasn't working...lol I'm sure it was just a coincidence and it had nothing to do with that survey and more with my open trouble ticket, but who knows. Just glad it's working. |
