Went to a local Porsche dealership today to check out a few cars, as incentives are amazing right now due to this virus.

Was really impressed with the quality of Taycan Turbo S interior and how it felt inside. Interior space is smaller than F90, but bigger than I expected. Car is low, and sitting position is very low. Didn't get to test drive one this time, as I came in for wife's new car. Taycan was just a bonus.

Taycan definitely caught my attention, and I loved the way it looked.

Here is a few photos vs my M5 F90 for comparison:

The Taycan is IMO the best looking sedan ever built and by good margin. It’s got an exotic look to it and has a presence nothing since maybe the Rapide can come close to.

I'm a Porsche and BMW guy. Currently own both. Spent 1/2 day in a Taycan. Love the exterior. Interior goes to M5 for me. I'm 6'3" and the rear visibility out of the Taycan is zero. But you do have great camera's. Faster/Quicker than my F90M5 was. Tech comparison is subjective....for me...Idrive.....

IMHO the Taycan is the most awesome EV on the planet. Does a LOT of things well.

IMHO the F90M5 is the most awesome Saloon ride on the planet.

If someone offered me a free set of keys and I had to keep it for 3 years,......................... F90M5

Really like the Taycan as well but can't justify the price. This is a gen.1 car technically and will age quicker than the 911.

According to our dealer, most Taycans are leased for the reason of unknown future value.
The Turbo S leases for three times that of the M5c ($4600 a month) due to their horrible rates...Based on pre-negotiated numbers but the low 41% residual won't make a great deal look that much better.

Porsche doesn’t subsidize their leases or financially engineer them like BMW does. BMW sets unrealistically high residuals with low MF and then the cars are worth 35%-40% after three years when BMW has residuals of 60%. Porsche doesn’t do that. They set residuals low and high MFs but a lot of their cars you end up with equity after the lease whereas BMW you certainly don’t.

Either way, 4600 is a lot and I certainly wouldn’t pay that for one even though I think it’s a fantastic car.
