325i Valve body change and program with schawaben tool

Have a 2006 325i and got the 4F8 code; did the reset by accelerating in 4th gear(no shift to 5th) and then stop shift from drive to neutral 10 times; no luck. Reset adaptations and codes come back.

I'm afraid a new transmission, but I was reading to change the valve body; so couple things here. I've rebuilt transmission from the ground up; but never anything on a BMW and I do not want to spend 8K at BMW shop. So

1: Where is the best place to purchase the valve body?
2: Is it fairly simple the way the videos show? Any hidden issue sot look out for
3: They all say Program will be needed after swap-what does that include-just registering it to the vehicle or something else more complicated?

4: Can I do the program with the professional Schwaben tool I bought form ECS a couple years ago

Any help and guidance is appreciated especially step by step directions. Thanks again in advance for any help

ZF valve bodies don't go bad often. But the solenoids attached to them do. Most 6 speed ZF issues are solved by replacing solenoids along with the sleeves/seals between the valve body and transmission.

Thanks for the info; was reading up more on it and I believe this to be the case with the symptoms and all. Going to order the parts today from FCP Euro.

The only trouble I'm having is finding the correct nomenclature for the gasket between the controller and the solenoids. Appears it is like a foam?

I think when i bought the foam strip it was hard to find the correct strip. I bought mine on ebay.

Havent installed it though. My trans parts have just been sitting around waiting to be put in
