No Audio issue.. help!
hi Everyone
i have a 335i 2007 e92 w/ CCC navi. i recenty try to upgrade the screen to an android unit while still maintaining CCC in the background. the unit works great everything fuctions (my oem CCC nob tho doesn't always responds well in the android unit.. but least of my worries right now) stupid me while doing the install i did not disable the car battery. so now when starting i get the no audio... SOS not working along with aux etc... so i check the fuse box and all the audio fuses.. no issue. i didnt check ccc fuse and the unit is working and still spinning the DVD navi. i dont have a satellite radio .. and i do have a MOST loop through cable both male and female to test. i check under the streeing wheel where the optical cable apparenly loops through before hitting the CCC and i see no Red Optical light from either side. i check the logic 7 amp and also no optical light from either in or out. now im down to the MOST US unit which i think is broken but dont know how to check? or maybe im wrong am i correct to say.. power goes into MOST US which then sends a signal to -> logic 7 > under steering wheel locaiton > CCC and ends there right? look for some help of what to do next. thinking of changing out with a MOST unit to see if that is the issue thanks in advance |

The first place I would look it at the Most Connection at the
Back of the Radio or Idrive. The Most Cable there may not be seated or one of the sides pushed out . Go to the place you were working in the car first. Also be sure your battery is fully charged as a low battery can cause you all kinds of phantom problems. Put a long slow charge on the battery if it's below 12.4 volts I assume this is piggy back unit that does not take out the Idrive module. If you take out what was formerly the I drive or pro radio in the main console you have removed the gateway module which is the starting point for the most bus. Light comes out Radio or Idrive doesn't make it to the Test Point under the dash It didn't make it from the back of the Radio or Idrive either due to not being plugged in or the Head Unit going bad. Worse case back out of the install and see if things work again. Doesn't matter when you put the battery in you must always
check the voltage as a first step when working on these cars. If you work on these cars with the doors open or trunk open the car will not go to sleep and you can drain the battery. Also as a fiber optic troubleshooting technique you can shine a light down the fiber optic to see if the light comes out the other end. This checks the Fibers not the modules. If the modules where powered up it might go through not sure though never ran that experiment. How is the harness to the Radio setup was the fiberoptic transferred to the new Harness at the back of the idrive or radio if a harness came with the new setup. If you told people exactly what the model number and manufacturer was and showed pictures maybe someone that had done one before could offer more specific help. It is fixed! Omfg ... so thank for saying back track your steps
I forgot to pull out the optical from the original plug to put into the new ccc side of the harness The y split harness does not loop your optical three. So when install one of these you have to remove the optical connector and plug it in the side that connects to ccc My silliness and thank you everyone What I circle in blue was what I had to remove and connect back into ccc |
