bmw cracking down..
My car is at the dealer for a CEL and limp modes, i went down stairs to take a look and they had taken my whole ecu apart...
I really dont know what they are trying to find, because theres nothing there my car has been stock. i even took it into a different bmw dealer ive taken my car in 8 times in that last 6 months and never had a stupid problem like this. Last time was sat for the same problem. Ive really had it with this car, i wish i can lemon it. This is already the second time this stupid problem is not getting fixed. its been there for 4 days already. |

Maybe they are onto your online ID - how could you go with Boosted335 and not add a tune?

They're profiling you, and based on your signature (15% tint, aftermarket suspension and body kit), I'm not surprised. Anyway, sorry you're having problems with your Bimmer, and good luck!

I can understand you'd be upset that the problem hasn't been fixed yet... but i don't see why you're so upset about them looking into your ECU if you don't have anything to hide.
Put yourself in their shoes -- a vast majority of those 335i's throwing CEL's are because of aftermarket tunes. If your car is throwing CEL's, maybe it's because of a tune *shrug* More than likely, if you're throwing limp modes, they SHOULD look at ur ECU... hell, if I got CEL's and Limpmodes on my stock 335i, they damn well better look at the ECU

Read especially the para beginning with "A special provision..." From what I've read in these forums, if you have a problem car that clearly falls into the Lemon Law category, then before you file you should contact BMWNA one last time and tell them so. Others have said that once BMWNA realized that your car applies, and you know the law and are ready to use it, that they become anxious to negotiate a replacement car, so as to keep down their Crap Car statistics.

I agree with the profiling - it's all the mods, last time I was in they asked a lot of questions about the mods digging for info about a tune since I have wheels, a lip, m3 spoiler and a few other things, they really wanted to assume I had it chipped too!

I know they're digging into this. Before I went to the dealer for fuel pump replacement, I asked them about whether or not they flashed the ECU when they replaced the fuel pump. Immediately the SA asked why I wanted to know, followed by the question "do you have mods in your car?" I said there were internet discussions about the latest software causing increased lag. He then shrugged off that comment and said "Just internet rumors. Ignore it." The good news is they left my software alone when they replaced the HPFP.

+1 it is rare they get everything together as it was before they touch it (why I hate the dealer working on my car), so next time they open it up, it looks like someone has been in there and they blame it on you - I would take a good look when you get it back and make sure they didn't damage anything that makes it look like someone was messing with the ECU!

Wow dude this sucks. I just took my tune out of my car and they didn't catch a thing when I needed an HPFP replacement.
