$50 license plate frames? Baah!
Found this sucker at Pep Boys yesterday. Can't remember what it cost but it wasn't much.. has a chrome inner frame and black outer frame and really looks great IMHO, picture does it no justice. Just say "no!" to outrageously priced accessories! Even included the "chrome" caps for the screw heads, just like the overpriced stuff.

Looks good. Can you find the specifics of the thing?

I read this and went right to Pep Boys.
They only had one with the black and chrome finish so I bought 2 all chrome ($14.99 each). WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!!!. First of all there was no mounting screws. So I had to drive 30 miles back to Pep Boys. The fasteners and caps are plastic and I couldn't get them to snap together and stay together. They came with a clear plastic license plate cover, but you would have to remove the plastic caps and clear plastic cover to change registration years and the plastic caps won't hold up to putting on and taking off. After playing with them for about an hour I gave up and just fastened the frames and license plates with stainless steel screws without the clear plastic covers and fasteners and caps. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I like license plate frames like Kevins. They are not overdone and serve the purpose. For me I will never again attach just the plate or the plate in a metal frame to my cars. Plastic frames are the way to go. The metal frames or the metal plate alone scratch the car over time with vibrations from driving. While the scratches are always covered by a plate I hate the fact that the car is slowly being scratched down to the metal. Plastic frames protect the car from the metal plate.

You get what you pay for
My girl bought Acura plates, and the chrome started crack/peel after a year.
