Anyone tried 255 tires in front?
Just wondering if anyone has mounted 255's in front.
I know 245's fit... so maybe 255's would too. (( I ask because there is a deal ($) on 4 255's. )) -scheherazade |

How do they look? Do you run a spacer in the front? I've thought about going square with 8.5" 162s, and running spacers on the rear only if it looked right.

I've always run a square setup with 255 F/R. Did it on my E46 330 for 5 years. I like the look, the ability to rotate, and the handling change. I just mounted my rears up front to check fitment before I ordered rims and tires. JP |

if lowered, they need some camber - and it depends on the actual section width of the tire as that varies from brand to brand.
but they *can* fit. no guarantees without testing though. |

255 will fit up front depending on wheel offset. Too low and you'll rub on the fender and too high and you'll rub on the strut. assuming you are running an 8.5 or 9 with anything close to the stock offset or 10-15mm lower, you should have no problems. I am going to be running a square setup this spring of 18x8.5 313 18" wheels with 255/35/18 PSS with a 10-12mm spacer. based on my calculations it will work with plenty of room and i am lowered on kw v3.
I hope you're putting these on an 8.5+ wheel up front. 255 is too wide for an 8" stock wheel. |

Front rubbing depends on camber. I run 265/35/18 at all 4 with Yoko AD08s and track it extensively with no rub. 2.8d camber affords me no rubbing whatsoever up front. I get some rubbing with >200 lbs in back seat (so I can't put the in-laws back there when I track), though I think it would go away with a fender roll.
http://www.apexraceparts.com/EC-7-18...e-2_p_159.html Wheels specs: 18x9" ET31, 5x120mm, 72.6mm cb Tire spec: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....D08R&tab=Sizes Hoosier in 255 is same width as AD08s in 265 so that is as wide as you can go with the purple crack (I love the purple crack): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....R8R6&tab=Sizes Here's a recent pic with the 265 AD08s being "driven" by an unknown man on a dynamoter during an emissions test we all have to suffer on the Colorado front range.

Any issues with excessive wear @ -2.8? How about harshness on the street with the Vorschlags? |

AJ, "excessive" and "acceptable" are subjective I guess. I have 1/8 toe in, maybe even a little less, so I believe I get acceptable wear. I have more wear on the outside shoulder from, um, turning "spiritidly" and I can also rotate all four. So I even drive winter at -2.8d. I only drive maybe 500 miles all winter, so that probably has an affect on "acceptable". Vorshlags do make some noise and add some discomfort. My car sounds like a truck from inside too because I removed the head cover and the "tray" (for heat evacuation and because I got lazy - I change my brake fluid a lot). As long as it's acceptable to my wife, it's acceptable to me.

I wish I lived near a track like you guys do but I would not like the front range craziness. What kind of brakes are those anyway, at first glance I thought you just painted the calipers. |

I bought these very ones. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=618154 They took care of my "smelting" problem. If I ever go to Monarch/CB to ski/bike etc, I may look you up. You can drive the car. (Just not on your WWI driveway.)
