Shopping for 2018 M2, What's This?

Anyone know what's going on with the single exhaust here? There's nothing in the listing.

It looks like some sort of aftermarket exhaust but it is an authentic M2.

Yeah I searched the VIN, was just wondering if anyone knew which exhaust the prior owner put on there.

Looks custom. Dealer probably is none the wiser or doesn't care

Yeah, of course they're clueless. I also think I saw this same car on Vroom < 3 months ago when I wasn't seriously shopping yet.

if you want this particular car I'd use that as a bargaining chip to get a better deal. I have an inkling that the exhaust fabrication on that is shoddy if you can get a look underneath

Yeah, not sure how much lower I can get, that's already a great price. I'll probably walk away since I'm not local and can look closely/listen to it.

Lol, ordered w/ different tips my ass. He modified it. You can't get different tips from the factory, even the official M Performance Exhaust ends up being port installed. Tires are also a dead give away that it was probably tuned as well. No stock M2 needs that kind of rubber to maintain traction. Walk away from it.

the car was modded.

Check the Front driver side chassis brace. There used to be a Dinan air intake there 100%. The strut was cut to accommodate the Dinan intake

Then they removed the intake and sold it and returned to stock.

I'm willing to bet the exhaust was originally the a port-installed MPE exhaust and they sold that off and then got a hackjob muffler shop to put in a single exit exhaust to keep costs minimal

This is why I love this forum. Would have never looked at strut brace. Nice work.

Dude did well with the tires, as the size works really well, and it's a fantastic tire for the money. I mean, it's no PS4S, but for a tire you're going to kill, it's pretty damn nice.

Very interesting. I'm also trying to purchase a 2018. Where is this car located by chance? I noticed the text said that it was Grove City Ford. I am discussing a car with a dealer that came from Grove City Ford originally but it isn't that car. Strangely, they also told me that it was the owner's personal vehicle. Hmm... It's a bit odd. I told the guy yesterday that I wanted the car and was ready to put a deposit on it. They were closing so he said he would call me back this morning and no call yet. I got a text around 11:00 stating that he was waiting on TTL fees and state taxes then would have the official numbers for me. Does it really take that long to come up with that? Makes me wonder if they are playing with a few people trying to get the best deal or something like that.

the "this is dealership owner's personal vehicle" is a pretty common car salesman tactic. It's supposed to draw the buyer in since they can put a face to the previous owner and it also makes it seem like the car is well kept and driven infrequently.

I've been looking for about a month and literally 4 dealers have said "personal car." Another great one said it was the deceased brother of a salesman's car so they knew how well it was taken care of.

For giggles I inquired about the exhaust and the guy who contacted me immediately says he's putting it on the rack now to see.

I think the salesman you got was just a snake haha churchillps

Nah, they're obviously lying; judging by the mods, that M2 was probably previous owned by a little old lady, who only drove it on Sundays, to church service
