2009 3-series on BMW Canada site
They are there...
There has been a price drop. Packages have dropped in price (example - Nav is now 2000 instead of $3000 and 328i sport package is $2300 instead of $2900) The 323i dropped to 34,900 to start (about $500 less) and is no longer available with Sport Package. 328i dropped to MSRP 39,900... that's something like $1500 less than before. 335i looks to be a bit less... maybe $1000 dollars. Options cost less. The M3 price stayed the same but the options cost less. heated steering wheel is available on all 3-series cars now (not sure about M3) No indication of a 320d nor of a price for the 335d. All literaturature discusses the 335d. |

I just compared my 2008 335xi sedan.
Some interesting things I saw: - MSRP is down $900 - Sport Package is $500 less. - Leather is now standard (Leatherette is no longer available) - No logic 7 upgrade (Used to be $1200), it's replaced with BMW individual for $2000 which includes Satelite radio - Premium Package is now $2000 instead of $3950! And it includes comfort access - Navigation is now $2000 (Used to be $3000) - Configurator now includes Freight and PDI / Taxes. I was jealous until I saw the new interest rate and that a lease would cost me $250 more per month... |

makes me happy i got my 2008 a month ago with a super deal, like phil said +$250 a month more in payments for me too makes it now worth it. 6.9% is way too much.

When i placed my order i actually thought it would be more, so my car is going to be cheaper than expected. with price of the premium package dropped significantly due to the fact that there is no leather attached to it since it is standard.

The pricing on the 09 is out on the US website. Looks like a car spec'd the same is about 1800.00 more then the 08. This is for a fully loaded Sedan. As I mentioned in another thread I was going to pick up a 08 however even with the cost increase I have decided to wait for the 09. The changes are significant and will result in a higher resale value on the back end. The new wider front and rear track combined with the interior and a two generation leap in the Nav/Entertainment package make it worth the difference in price. I figure with discounting the 09 will cost me about 5000 more then a 08.

one confusing page mentions the 330d, but all the numbers are for the 335d.

The prices for the options dropped quite a bit too. iDrive from 2900 to 2000, sports package 2900 to 2300, premium package 4500 to 2800 for 328i (slightly different from 2008).
Finally see BMW Canada doing something to get the prices closer to the US pricing. |

Honestly, the pricing of the new C-Class was making BMW look ridiculous... especially in the C300 vs. 328i catergory. Its a significant drop in price... the 328i optioned with Sport, Premium, and including leather is now like $5K to $6K less. |

I traded in my 2006 330i in July 2008 for a 2008 335xi and after BMW Canada rebates and discounts from the dealer got over $7,000 off the MSRP for the 335xi.
I now just looked into the black book wholesale trade in value of my 2006 330i in September, it has dropped in value by over $4,000 in less than 4 months The dealer gave me in July the very top end of the black book wholesale on the trade in for my 2006 330i. It looks like I was lucky and trading in for the 2008 335xi in July was good timing instead of waiting for the 2009 335xi |

So if I understand correctly, the factory cash discount was $4000, which means you managed to bargain an additional $3000 off the price on top of that? |

I think a discount of 5% from the dealer on top of the $4,000 discount from BMW Canada was pretty standard in July 2008. For some dealers there was even more room than 5% depending on the model and if it was in their inventory.
I was though happy to get the very top end of the black book for my trade in value for the 2006 330i. |

HELP!!!!
I dont know what to do anymore.... I have an 08 335xi still on its way, week 35 build ( sometime in august, tho i didnt know production was still occuring given that the factory was supposed to be closed till septemeber ) but now 09 pricing came out with a tons of new interesting features. As you all know, leather is standard and all options are cheaper. I am going for the lease option, and my payments come out to just under 1000 taxes and freight included. However, the car is base, with leatherette ( but i find it is still nicely configured -- sunroof, heated seats etc. ) What do i do? I have been waiting for this thing to come in FOREVER, and apparently , it should be here in around 8 days. Should i just throw in the towel or keep grinding to get similar pricing on the 09 -- granted that they are going to be a lil more expensive because they are cars of the year and they are brand new. AND I'D GET MY CORAL RED LEATHER |

I wonder what they'll be willing to discount on 2009s next spring/summer, and with a factory order. I don't think I'll be able to find "my" car from a dealer inventory. I'll be likely going with one of the rarer colors like Crimson or Barbera Red, and the exact configuration I want (335i, manual, sport pkg, no nav, no audiophile, exec pkg - maybe).

I saw that there's the option to have that included in the payment calculator, but the website still doesn't outright tell you what the actual Freight and PDI charges are. Can anyone comment if they know what they are?
(I know you could probably work it out backwards by figuring out your interest cost, etc.) There is probably also a tire and A/C tax in there as well, right? (eg. Is tire tax still ~ $4 per tire?) |

Anthracite roof liner comes with the Sport package.
I noticed that the standard Titanium trim on the 328 has been replaced by what they call Black High Gloss trim. I wonder if that is similar to Individual Piano Black?

So for people in the market for a 2008 BMW 335i. Is it better to wait for the 2009 BMW 335i?
How about for used? Will the market for 2008 335i models drop in price cause of the 2009 335i models? due to new packages, better options and facelift? Will it be a substantial drop? cause I'm thinking of buying a lightly used 2008 335i within a couple of days or week... |
