Post COVID - lease deals

Firstly, apologies if this subject has already been discussed elsewhere in the forum.

Just wanted to ask / get a feel for what people are thinking as far as where lease pricing will shake out this summer.

Thanks.

Depends on interest rates and residuals. Factor in how you believe these will change. I suspect interest rates will be low but so will residuals.

What I have been hearing is that used vehicle values are going to plummet. That will more than likely cause lease payments to be larger since residual value will be hurt. Interest rates look good now, I am sure that will be true through the end of the year.

If you can find any decent deals still about snatch them up now imo!

We've been watching the Tiguan R Line Tech 1.5 deals for about 6 months as my wife's Qashqai goes back in July, 3 + 47 15k mile deals were always around £370pm, loads and loads at that price before corona, but at the start of this month most had vanish with the few remaining ones around £400pm, but fortunately we've managed to secure one at £373pm!

I'm inclined to think that dealers will be motivated to increase volume to account for March / April / May losses, and deals should subsequently be pretty aggressive...

Could be artificially optimistic though.

Best to consider how (lack of) inventory may affect lease rates. Some dealers are continuing to move a lot of metal, but no backfill with most of the plants producing for the US dark.

I'm also wondering since I put an order already, but the SA plant is closed till 18th of May, what to do. I have an option to cancel it, but not sure how to proceed in current situation. Should I stay with the order or just cancel and eventually hope for even better deal in few months?! Deal as of end of February was a top notch.
