rattle from shifter area on 335i 6spd
I've got a rattle that comes and goes that is driving me nuts. It appears to happen more when the car is cold. It comes from the shifter area, I can't pinpoint exactly where but happens no matter what gear I am in and gets worse with engine revs, harmonic in nature. It almost sounds if there is a piece of broken plastic rattling around in the base of the shifter.
It does seem to go away after the car is up to full temperature, which makes me think something expands as it heats up and eliminates the rattle. I've searched and found plenty of posts on rattles, but none like this. Anyone else encountering this? |

I had that immediately after I picked up my new 6spd 335i e90 as well, it turned out to be the trim where it meets the bottom of the center stack. I think its pushed in with clips or something, and I just pushed it down pretty hard (push down right up at the left and right side up against the center stack). After a couple times doing this it stopped making noise.. I was glad I didn't have to pull anything apart. I think sometimes new car pieces have to settle out a bit so they stop rubbing.
