ODB port alarm
Hi, just thinking of starting coding....
I read somewhere about the ODB port alarm. Don't really know what this refers to? Is it anything I need to be worried about? So if I plug into the ODB port is this going to send an alert to BMW or my dealer? |

I know what you mean, bmw cars have a SIM card as I know, this sim register number of codings which you have done in your car. If this value is too high, it can be a problem with quarantine if something goes wrong for example mirror problem . I tried to get to know about this last time, but there were not a lot of information. Could someone agree with my words or its fake information?

Nope. Code away to your hearts content. There is a lot of stuff in this sub forum on what can be coded in your car. Most of it is useful.

No; I have been using the OBDII port to code my current & previous cars, as well as a few others The only drawback is when you take it into a dealer & software is updated, you'll have to go back & re-code -- so it's well worth while to keep a personal "cheat seat" of what you've done
