A/C doesn't seem to work when driving hard

Hey Everyone,

I've noticed that the A/C in my car doesn't seem to work when I drive my car hard. The fan keeps working but the air coming out of the vents is not as cold as it should be.

It feels just like when you press the button for the A/C to turn it off but keep the fan going.

As soon as I start taking it easy the air gets cold again. Keep in mind that this is happening in Miami, therefore 90 degree temp and 100000% humidity.

Is this happening to anybody else?

Thanks!

Define driven hard. Like redlining it? If so, completely normal. The car will disengage the AC to get full power. Once you continue normal driving, it should reengage.

Yes. Redlining or at least shifting above 6000 rpms.

Normal then. Most cars do this since the AC robs power.

He speaks the truth, at WOT throttle the A/C compressor cuts off to produce max power.

I noticed this as well and seems to be normal. But after diving REALLY hard and turn on the AC you get HOT air for like 2~4 seconds. And i mean HOT AIR. Like Heater air.

After few seconds it goes away. BMW and Heat is def an issue.

I heard the M5 does this as well.

Does anyone know the exact parameters?
