Can someone explain...?

I just went over the article about real horsepower of Nissan GT-R in C&D, and what they mentioned is that drivetrain loss for RWD manual is about 15%, but for 4-wheel-drive vehicles it's about 20%. How is that? I always thought that for 4-whell-drive there is almost no drivetrain loss. Was I wrong?

AWD drivetrains inherently create more drag due to the added moving parts causing additional friction and resistance.

Ok, then another stupid question from me: if awd's drivetrain loss is bigger then how come they are considered faster (or quicker?) if they get less power to the wheels (considering the crank HP is the same as RWD)?

They will be faster out of the dig (off the line) as they have traction + more but won't have the top speed of a non awd.
