X3M exhaust and diffuser on M40i ?

Hello everyone
I searched for a while to be sure not to post double, but didn’t find this specific question.

I have been looking for a nice quad pipe exhaust for my (hopefully to be delivered soon) 2020 Alpine White X3 M40i but don’t find many options...

Therefore, I was thinking, maybe I can just order a X3M exhaust and install that one.

So my questions, is there anyone with the same idea, anyone tried it? And maybe most important, anyone that would be able to verify if this fits without modification?

If not, does anyone know which manufacturer offers an exhaust for the M40i.
I know supersprint does but they don’t deliver the certification we need in Europe

Thanks a lot
Sam

Hello, I bring good news for people who want to change the exhaust and diffuser, it is from the fi exhaust brand, they have released a complete exhaust compatible with the standard diffuser or the X3M, I leave the video here

Yea I wouldn't think it would be considering
1. Such few manufacturer offerings
2. Likely a limited market
3. Shipping costs

Anyone here has done this swap to put F97 diffuser on G01 M40i?

Seems direct fit ... but ...

... looking at the underside picture, seems like F97 may have mounting points that G01 maay not have ?

But the picture below is with G01 M40i so looks like the mounting points are indeed there also with G01 (???), or more parts need to be replaced that aren't obvious ...

One downside is you may need to paint it. X3M doesn't have the same silver as M40i, so I definitely would.

Mine is Dark Graphite, i'll keep it black, probably better that way. I think the only cerium gray left in the car is in the front boomerang.

Seems like, wasn't obvious to me, that the F97 muffler sits lot closer to the front of the car than the G01 M40i.

I wonder if there are other parts needed to fit F97 diffuser to G01.

Comparing the costs to go with F97 diffuser setup against the 3D Design's, seeing if 3D Design's front CF lip is to be installed, seems to make sense to match that with their diffuser at the back. Granted their diffuser cutout for the exhaust tips is same size as stock, but with 101mm tips for quad tips setup should look DOPE!

Now, only if i can time with IND's next (big) sales...

If you install an X3 M diffuser on your X3 M40i you will have the exhaust tips sunk back. The diffuser sticks out further than the M40i part.

Thanks for that, i get it now about the placement of F97 muffler.

So expect to have exhaust system with G01 diffuser to look worse off with F97 diffuser installed.

3D Design diffuser it is.

If anyone insists on F97 diffuser then exhaust options seem to be,

Supersprint (they have setup with G01 diffuser and F97 diffuser on X3 M40i), or
Fi-Exhaust (their install photos show with F97 diffuser on G01 X3 M40i with their exhaust, so ...)

Went over to the local dealer to look at it again, and yep, the F97 diffuser stance is lot more aggressive from that "sticking out further" than G01's.

After speaking with the local performance shop i work with, we are planning following,

a) swap out the G01 for F97 diffuser, probably some painting is needed here

b.1) stick with stock G01 exhaust with different tips (for quad tips look, probably can now go up to 114mm tips), will need some fab work here obviously,

-- or --

b.2) get DINAN's F97 axle-back exhaust and drop it in, again probably will need some fab work here as well, with two flaps in F97, dunno yet if we can keep one side always open, and just have car control driver side flap like it is with stock G01 exhaust flap electronics,

Seems doable with underside of G01...

There is a good replica X3M diffuser available, I installed it on my X3 M40i and bought some carbon tips off of Ebay. They look fantastic. The only thing that doesn't match is the body colored paint on the diffuser.
