How to disconnect battery? Pls provide details

Due to Covid19, lots of us are stuck at home or city apartments (like me).

During this time, if I were back at home in my own garage, I would trickle charge the battery with my charger. However I'm now in a city apartment, having left my X3 parked in an indoor communal garage. I do not have my battery charger nor does it look like there is an outlet to charge.

How do I go about disconnecting the battery for the next 3-4 weeks? A detailed step by step or photos explanations would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you disconnect the battery then there will be no way to close the trunk without climbing through the back and reconnecting the battery. 3-4 weeks car should be able to sit locked and not have an issue.

you are creating more problems overthinking it

Agreed. Also, take drives! Just don't stop anywhere other people are. Very good for keeping up morale! Wife and I have been going for a quick drive around every weekend to help with cabin fever. Go check out some new housing developments or something!

Yes! Yesterday, my wife and I took a 25 minute drive to a local beach, walked around for 10 minutes, and came back. It was a great break from being cooped up, even if only for a little more than an hour.

p.s. I've also been away for 3 weeks at a time and never had a battery problem.

The thing I'm stuck in Italy, where the state of emergency and martial law is in full swing. Not going to be able to leave anytime soon to anywhere also because staying home it's going to save lives. That's what Italy has determined to be the reality of things.

Day 16 and counting... prob going to be another 3 weeks...

Gee, that's too bad. We are adhering to the stay at home directions, but we were 2 people from the same household in the same car to a beach and NO interactions with anyone else. We are being very careful about maitaining distance, as we all should be. Hopefully we will all come out of this and be able to put it in the figurative rear view mirror.

Damn, that sucks... We'll probably be in the same boat around April or May.
Stay safe.
