Driver airbag after replacing wheel issue

The wheel on my car was looking pretty ragged so bought a replacement. Install went fine but when I turned car back on the airbag warning light tripped. I pulled back apart and realized the green connector on airbag module wasn't plugged in all the way. (The airbag is still original to my car, just the wheel is different)

I plugged green connector in but light is still on. I reinstalled old wheel just as a sanity check but light still one. I tried clearing codes but no good.

I'm wondering if because the green connector wasn't attache I tripped a fuse, or possibly its some coded safety thing which needs to be reset or possibly just needs to be driven for x amount of miles. Or I guess it's possible airbag module is shot now. That seems unlikely though.

(I have the small ground that screws into wheel attached, also have the ground with spade type end attached.)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You likely tripped the airbag light on. You will need the right type of scanner to reset this module.

Get a bimmergeeks.net cable and set up the Inpa suite
and Ista D .

Or the bimmergeeks.net pro tool for phones.

This will allow you to reset errors as long as there is not
a hardware problem.

Did you detach the battery during the install?

Did you follow a DIY?
There are many DIY's on ytube

I followed the std youtube tutorials, disengaged battery etc. Completely my fault as I didn't fully engage one of the connectors. I suspect you guys are right and it tripped a light that can't be reset using $20 autozone reader. Appreciate the input guys.

Generic readers won't work. If you know of a body shop that deals with bmw's, it may be worth going by and asking them for a quick reset. Toss the guy a $10 for lunch and done.
